I had the absolute pleasure of having Milanu's cater my wedding last year. The owners, Anurag and Mili, went out of their way to help us pick the best menu items to have at our wedding. Their Tandoori Butter Chicken dish is my husband's favourite and their Shahi Paneer is mine. Anurag especially went above and beyond. We realized we had forgotten to bring enough serving utensils for all the dishes and Anurag saved the day by providing everything we were missing and making sure everything was set-up correctly. Being able to have our favourite meals on such a special day and share delicious food from our favourite local restaurant without breaking the bank meant so much to us. I visited the restaurant last Tuesday. Loved some of the food and the atmosphere. Tried their chole bhatura it was delicious proper Delhi style. Loved their shola chicken tikka wrap. In chinese - I tried their schezwan fried rice and chicken Manchurian. Disappointed as it was just plain bland rice with lil soya sauce. Didn’t taste at all like fried rice. No proper spice or no garlic. I am fan of indo Chinese and had high expectations however, completely disappointed with the Chinese including the chicken Manchurian. The chicken was ok but the gravy pure corn starch a complete disappointment. Should improve on this. Loved their desi butter chicken and their karahi paneer delicious and properly spiced goes well with naan. I visited them again. This time the food was good liked the chicken chow mein. The mix non veg platter was good however, I was more excited about their patiala fish as that’s my favourite but one of the pieces were completely broken when it came out from the kitchen & the tandoori chicken bone in .. the meat was completely off the bone like fallen on the sizzler. Then we also tried their gobi Manchurian very okayish it tasted like corn flour and soya sauce could be better. Kudos to the front staff especially Roma she was very sweet, patient and helpful. She helped us to order some of the dishes and she also gave suggestions about the options in curries for different spice levels. I’ve eaten at Milanu’s Tandoori Grill quite a few times before and always loved the food, the dine in portion size is slightly small, so I was a little reluctant on placing the Caterering order here so this was my first time ordering catering from them for our Diwali party — and honestly, it blew everyone away! The food tasted just like Delhi — rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The chilli chicken was spot-on, the kadhai paneer, dal makhni was creamy and delicious, and the naans stayed soft till the very end (which never happens!). Even the papads stayed crisp, and the gajar ka halwa, made in milk and not water, had the perfect & mild sweetness. Every guest at the party raved about the food, and for once, I had zero leftovers — always a sign of great food! A big shoutout to Anurag Ahluwalia and his team for going above and beyond — the food was fresh, perfectly packed, and delivered on time. Highly recommend Milanu’s to anyone looking for authentic Indian flavors and top-notch catering in the GTA. 👏🔥
